In summer 2015, Frank will be starting his fourth season of teaching SUP on the Potomac. An avid waterman, Frank loves whitewater and paddles year round. Surfing and running rivers are his passion, whether on the Potomac, the James, the Youghiogheny River, or in the Atlantic or the Pacific Ocean. Running Mather Gorge, surfing Offut and Rocky are some of his favorite spots.
Frank comes to us with an ACA Level 2 Stand Up Paddle instructor certificate, and a swift water rescue certification from the Whitewater Rescue Institute. 2015 is the second year for Frank to instruct with our Kids SUP camp!
Michelle fell in love with whitewater when she first rafted the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers several years ago. She began whitewater kayaking in 2012, and ventured into the world up SUP in 2013. Michelle is an ACA Level II SUP instructor and has a blast instructing Camp SUP for kids.
Michelle enjoys the occasional peaceful paddle on widewater, running the gorge, playing in local surf spots, and paddling rivers like the Gauley and Yough. Last summer, Michelle kayaked the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho, and looks forward to some more east coast adventures in 2015.
When she’s not on the water, Michelle enjoys running, swimming, and skiing. An elementary school teacher and former swim coach, Michelle loves to share her passion for the water with paddlers of all ages, and she’s also fluent in American Sign Language! She is looking forward to another great season on the water!
