Your first lesson will be in a safe, calm-water environment where you’ll learn the basics—from how to use your equipment, to balance and paddling technique, to what to do in case of an emergency. Greg “Suggz” Miller has been a waterman for over 30 years. He is one of the first-ever Level 3 River SUP Certified Instructors by the American Canoe Association. He was a pioneer in creating one of the first SUP programs in the Washington, DC area in 2010. Greg also created other outstanding SUP programs in the Washington DC Area, and was the first stand up paddle boarder to run the white water on the Potomac River. One of the cool things about Greg Miller, is that when he’s not “Sharing the Stoke” of teaching SUP, he actually goes out and paddles all the time! Paddling “all the time” means through the winter months too!

Stand up paddle boarding is a relatively safe sport, but it’s important to get started with the right instruction and learn from a safety-conscious, experienced guide and teacher. Greg Miller was one of the first Level 3 River SUP Certified Instructors in the world certified by the American Canoe Association. He has also started and developer some of the other top stand up paddle programs in the Washington, DC area. If you book your first stand up paddle lesson, make sure to do it with someone who has a lot of experience and can give you the best time possible.

Greg Miller is one of Washington, DC’s stand out SUP athletes. He is an experienced surfer and waterman, and was perhaps the first stand up paddler in the Potomac River rapids near Washington, DC. He is a brand ambassador for Carbonerro Paddles and has designed production stand up paddle boards for white water, flatwater paddling, racing, and traveling. He’s also a winning stand up paddle racer and accomplished stand up paddle surfer. As a stand up paddle student, you’ll be in safe, capable hands with Greg’s over 30 years of water and paddling experience.
